Techmec Pty Ltd (ABN 12 345 678 901) is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
Contact details (name, phone, email, address), billing information, and technical information about the devices and systems we support — including system logs, configurations and diagnostic data necessary to deliver support services.
To deliver and schedule support services, process payments, provide quotes, meet our SLA and warranty obligations, and send service-related communications. We do not sell personal information, and we only send marketing with your consent — every message includes an unsubscribe option.
Repair and support work may expose our technicians to files on your devices. Technicians access only what is required for the job, are police-checked, and are bound by confidentiality agreements. Remote sessions are always visible to you and end when you close them.
Customer records are stored in Australian data centres. We apply the same Essential Eight controls we recommend to clients: MFA, encryption at rest and in transit, patching and least-privilege access. Data recovered or wiped under our recycling service is handled under chain-of-custody procedures and destroyed to NIST 800-88 standard.
We disclose personal information only to service providers who help us operate (e.g. payment processing, ticketing systems), where required by law, or with your consent. Where a provider stores data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure APP-equivalent protection.
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting privacy@techmec.com.au or 1300 832 463. We respond within 30 days. Unresolved complaints may be referred to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
